Education visits for Schools and Groups

The formation and premise of the new, independent organisation 'The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom', initially set up by the 'Department for Children Schools and Families', was to champion the promotion and development of learning outside the classroom.

Wellington Country Park with its acres of grounds and woodlands is ideally placed to help support this policy.

We can help raise the profile of this policy both with regard to recognising the benefits of such educational development to young people and by offering a superb location to visit and experience learning outside.

Learning can be so much more than just sitting in a classroom so why not bring your classroom outside and experience nature and life at first hand in a safe, open and educational surrounding.

Our location is particularly suitable for an educational visit for Nursery through to Primary school age.

Our grounds, ponds and woodlands provide schools and educational groups a vast opportunity to explore, investigate and learn.

We have a range of teacher resources to help you enhance your educational visit and unlock a different way of learning, whether it is staff led workshops or flexible teacher led activities. There really is something for everyone.

For more information on the aims of the workshops we have to offer, including our new ‘DIY’ workshop, supporting materials including pre and post activities and entry prices, please visit our ‘Workshops’ home page.

For some help, tips and advice on how to make your day run as smoothly as possible, please also visit our ‘Teachers Resources’ page.

We look forward to welcoming you to Wellington Country Park.
